Meet the Woman Behind the Camera

Hello!  It is so nice to meet you!  My name is Kristie Rae and I am the voice behind this blog and the eye behind the camera.

For sometime I wasn't quite sure what direction I wanted my life to head.  I always had certain goals like to create a happy home, have a big family, and have a million dogs surrounding me as I grow old with the man I love.  But as far as a career, it never was as clear as the rest.  While attending Slippery Rock University, I flipped through a few majors.  With the help of some of my wonderful sisters, Delta Zetas, I finally landed on a subject I was comfortable with, and relatively good at.

Fine Art, what sort of degree is that?  What kind of job can you get with that?  Those questions could go on and on and on.  After graduating I found a few jobs ( not career paths) that I was able to use some of my graphic design skills, and visual arts knowledge, but none were leading me to anything that felt "right".  With luck and convenient timing, I stumbled upon photography and like Goldie Locks, this fit just right!

After a year of acquiring more training, aside from the college courses already taken,  I am stretching my legs, working out my arms, and getting ready to embark on this journey into the great big world of photography.  Having worked for a wonderful photographer for the past year, I was able to learn on my feet and through experience. Being an assistant and second shooter, along with independent projects, I was able to be witness so much love and happiness and capture them all in a lasting image.

Through this blog you can learn more about me and all of my obsessions, my photography journey/experiences, and get behind the scenes sneak peaks of weddings, portraits, and other photo shoots I will be doing from this point on.  I look forward to all that is in front of me and I hope you will enjoy the ride too!
